This exciting well-bred 4-year-old started her racing career in Germany on the flat. She quickly won her maiden and progressed to Listed company. After coming second in a valuable Conditions race, she was acquired at the Baden Baden Sales by bloodstock agent JD Moore for Kevin Orchard and David Shuttle (The Danum Partnership).
She won her debut hurdles performance for Stuart Edmunds yard at Leicester in November 2020 by 10 lengths. Timeform clocked her time as the fastest by any juvenile filly at that time. She subsequently came 3rd in a Listed Hurdle race at Aintree in December, earning valuable black type for future breeding purposes.
With a handicap mark of 120 she should be competitive when she comes back to the racecourse in the Autumn of 2021. Her first objective being a high-class hurdle race at either Cheltenham or Chepstow. The Danum Partnership have kindly leased Megan to the Stuart Edmunds Racing Club for at least 12 months.
Doireann is a 4-year-old filly who hails from Ireland. She has run one Point-to-Point race over 3 miles on the 9th of May 2021 at Dromahane (near Waterford). She caught the eye as she came a credible 3rd, battling hard to the finish line.
Her breeding is first class. Her sire, Shirocco, has been one of the most successful stallions in history. He, himself, won the German Derby, Breeders Cup Turf in the USA, Coronation Cup at Epsom and was placed in the Arc de Triomph.
His progeny include the very successful jumps mare Annie Power who was rated 167, won 15 of her 17 starts and over £700,000 of prize money. Doireann's dam was called Sew N Sew. She did not see a racecourse but is well related, most notably through her full sister An Cathaoir Mor who was a 149 rated chaser who won 5 races and nearly £100,000 in prize money.
Doireann will most likely take the "3 careers" route for the Racing Club, starting in National Hunt Flat races (bumpers) and then progressing to hurdles and ultimately chasing. The Danum Partnership have kindly leased Doireann to the Stuart Edmunds Racing Club for at least 12 months.
Addosh started her racing career as a 2-year-old with trainer Hugo Palmer. She ran 5 times on the flat at 2, mostly on soft ground. She finished 5th, 2nd, 2nd, 5th and 4th. Before joining Stuart, she ran 5 times on the flat in 2021. She broke her maiden on 26 April 2021 by winning a 1 mile handicap at Thirsk.
Her most recent run before joining Stuart was an impressive second over 1 mile 2 furlongs at Haydock Park on 2 July 2021. She has a handicap mark of 72. Her sire, The Gurkha, is a new kid on the block. Very few of his progeny have made it to jumps racing yet. Her dam, Wild Storm, is by the great (and recently sadly departed) Galileo. Addosh is Wild Storm’s first foal.
Kevin Orchard and David Shuttle (assisted by bloodstock agent JD Moore and Stuart) purchased Addosh at the Tattersall’s Newmarket Sales on 7 July 2021. She has been kindly leased to the Racing Club for at least one year.
Addosh started her career with Stuart by finishing a credible 3rd in a Newmarket 1m2f Handicap flat race on 30 July 2021. She was then schooled for a career as a juvenile hurdler. She subsequently came an impressive 2nd in a Class 3 Juvenile Hurdle at Stratford on 23 August 2021, finishing behind a 2nd time winning high-class colt of Alan King and 16 lengths ahead of 3rd. She will follow a similar route to Megan in 2021/2022.
